behind RoughBiker
Hi, I’m Alex – short for Alessandro – the founder of RoughBiker.
I’ve been working in the motorcycle world in Italy for over 35 years, both in advertising and as a journalist for motorcycle magazines and websites. After the closure of many printed publications, I’ve continued this journey online, managing www.scootermagazine.it and contributing to various magazines and websites in the camper world.
In 2012, I launched my first brand, Runnerbull (www.runnerbull.com), creating handmade biker-style boots produced in Italy by skilled artisans using top-quality Italian leather. The result? Boots as comfortable as everyday shoes, but with the bold, rugged style bikers love.
Now, in 2025, I’ve launched RoughBiker — a new brand with the same soul, but a different mission: offering a more accessible price point without sacrificing quality. These boots are designed by me and crafted in Pakistan by a pair of experienced artisans I’ve carefully selected after years of testing, prototyping, and investment.
Finding materials and workmanship that match European standards hasn’t been easy. But after years of research and refinement, I’ve finally reached the right balance: solid craftsmanship, rugged materials (including thicker cowhide perfect for biker styles), and a cost that’s about half of what you’d pay for Italian-made gear.
